International Po Delta Birdwatching Fair 2020
April 28th to May 1st
The 9th edition of the International Bird Watching and Naturalistic Tourism Fair in Comacchio is back and being held in the Po Delta Park in Emilia-Romagna: a particularly loved event by visitors who are passionate about naturalistic lifestyle, open air vacations and naturalistic photography. The fair can boast an average of 30,000 visitors and approximately 200 exhibitors and is staged in a territory that has been confirmed as a privileged haven for birdwatchers and ‘slow’ tourism in contact with nature; it is part of the long list of events of Slow Springtime 2018 in the whole region of the Po Delta Park in Reggio-Emilia.
In this exhibition you will find representatives of the optics and photography sectors, specialised magazines, Tour Operators and Sportswear; in the midst of the many new elements of the edition for 2016 there is a pavilion dedicated to Biodiversity where the representatives of the Parks and the principal Environmental Associations that have been following and supporting this event can be found; there will be educating laboratories dedicated to families with children and schools as well as a space for Salt Mines, with the participation of the most important salt mines of Italy and Europe. Slow Tourism will also be given wide space: thanks to the Strategic Project SLOWTOURISM with offers concerning cycling and river tourism, bird-watching, environmental and sports tourism.
Many different interesting activities will be organised with the photographers of Delta in focus: theory lessons in photography, field outings, prestigious exhibits and the Delta in focus Contest, sponsored by Rivista della Natura (Nature’s Magazine). There are 4 categories in this contest: Birds of the Delta, Birds of the world, Natural Landscapes and Slow Tourism; you can find the complete regulations and the information on the website www.podeltabirdfair.it.
A long list of side shows will be organised to enliven the three days of the event, in collaboration with the principal environmental associations and the operators of the region: bird-watching lessons with the European Bird-watching Network, an encounter with Lars Svensson, well known international birdwatcher, boating, cycling and hiking expeditions towards the most enchanting sites of the Po Delta Park; there will also be high quality scientific conventions, wine and food tasting as well as sports contests.
