Culture and society portraited by Ferrara artists57 paintings, drawings and sculptures - among others by Boldini, Previati, De Pisis, Pagliarini, Minerbi, Mentessi, Funi and Melli - will talk about some significant aspects of public and private life between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries: changes in the territory and the city, family affections, places of work and leisure, devotion and new forms of spirituality, literary imagery and the memory of antiquity.
The exhibition compares works from three Ferrarese collections, the Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries, the Assicoop Modena & Ferrara UnipolSai Assicurazioni Collection; the BPER Banca Collection and is housed in three important historical museums, Casa Romei Museum, Palazzo Bonacossi, Palazzina Marfisa d’Este.
The exhibition is organized by the Mibac, Territorial Directorate of the Emilia-Romagna museum networks, Casa Romei Museum, Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries and Ancient Art Museums of the Municipality of Ferrara, Ferrara Arte Foundation.
